Meet David (right), a 19-year-old auto mechanic who resides and works as an apprentice in Bole, Ghana. Like many young people, David had his fair share of struggles before finding redemption and a new life through faith in Jesus Christ. His story is one of restoration, forgiveness, and hope that has not only surprised those closest to him, but has also led others to accept Jesus as their savior.
A Troubled Life
Before his conversion, David was involved in idol worship and struggled with issues at work. He had a strained relationship with his boss due to his lack of accountability when it came to repairing clients’ motorcycles. In addition, David had been caught stealing money from the shop, which nearly cost him his job. However, things were about to change for David in a profound way.
One day, during a door-to-door evangelism campaign, COF missionary Obed and his team met David. They shared the word of God with him and invited him to church to worship with them. Intrigued, David decided to join them and started attending church regularly. Obed and his team continued to visit David at his home and workplace, sharing the word of God and providing counsel about the consequences of living without Christ. David listened attentively, and his heart was gradually convicted by the Holy Spirit.
Eventually, David made a life-changing decision to accept Jesus Christ as his savior. He renounced idol worship and committed his life to following Christ. From that moment on, David’s life took a remarkable turn.
A New Life
David’s relationship with his boss not only improved, but he also gained favor and became one of his boss’s favorite apprentices. His newfound faith gave him a sense of purpose and integrity in his work. David worked diligently, always being honest and accountable in his repairs. His boss noticed the positive change in him and was impressed by his outstanding work ethic and attitude.
But the transformation didn’t stop there. David’s faith also had a ripple effect on those around him. Inspired by his story, two of his friends at work also accepted Jesus Christ as their savior and became members of the Bole church. David’s testimony and the impact of his faith on others became a shining example of God’s redemptive power and love.
