God Provides Not One, but Two Trucks

The following is a report written by Oti Salvador, director of “La Cosecha” in Mexico. If you missed the first post about their vehicle, make sure to read about it here.

I want to share the testimony and news with you of how the Lord provided a new van that we needed to transport the men from the rehab center. It is a 15 passenger 2003 Chevrolet Express and in good condition.

The donation was extraordinary; the young man who donated it is named Abimelec. He is married and has two young children. This brother had been unemployed for three years because the company where he was working needed to lay off some employees due to the pandemic and he was one of those who was laid off.

A while ago, Abimelec told me that he didn’t have a job and that he was working on making and selling blinds in order to provide for his family, but he was always trusting in the providence of God.

On Sunday, August 7th, he came to our Sunday morning service along with his family and in-laws and after the service he asked if he could talk to me. We went to my office and I was very happy as he shared that he had two good pieces of news for me; one was that after three years of being unemployed he had found a job, and that he was very grateful to God for that. The second piece of news was that a while ago, he had bought a raffle ticket for a cherry-colored truck and that when he bought the ticket he had told the Lord that if he won it he was going to support the ministry by giving an offering. A few days later, he had a dream and decided to buy another raffle ticket but this time for a black truck and it turned out that God allowed him to win not only one but both trucks.

He was very happy to tell me that this was the reason he came to see me, to keep his promise. He had already sold one of the trucks that he won and wanted to give an offering. He mentioned that since they were luxury trucks, he had decided to sell them and make better use of the money.

I was surprised because it is not common for someone to have so much luck as to win two trucks.

He asked me if we had a specific need and I told him about our van that had gotten burned. He paused to think, and then told me that his father-in-law had a van like the one I needed and if I wanted he would buy it from him and give it to me.

Later, when I was about to leave church, he called me on the phone to tell me that he had already arranged everything. He said if I wanted to and was available, I could pick up the van at that very moment. Obviously, I went immediately and there in his house he gave me this great blessing.

Regardless of the value of the van, you know brothers and sisters, that I see it as the grace of God for his children. In the first place, the Lord blessed Abimelec and sustained him during those three years that he didn’t have a job, and then finally opened a door for him with a new job, and in addition, the prize of the trucks. It is surprising how God transforms from one moment to another the situations that us believers are in and provides the solutions to our problems and needs in an extraordinary way, because as I shared, Abimelec had been without a job for three years. I also see the grace of God for “La Cosecha”.

“He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not also with him freely give us all things?” Romans 8:32

That’s right, brothers and sisters. If He has given His life for us who are undeserving of His grace, giving us the greatest display of His love, we should not worry about the aspect of provision because we are in His hands and in His hands we are safe.

I send you all a big hug.
