Ghana Missionary Couple Takes in 5-Year-Old Boy

Written by Emmanuel Anukun-Dabson, Executive Director of COF

Issah Gyani and his wife Fati Gyani continue to minister to the Fulfulde people group in the Savannah Region of Ghana, precisely Central Gonja (Buipe Area).

They have worked tirelessly among the Fulfulde people group and for four years now, they have been toiling to propagate the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to this neglected tribe, Fulfulde.

Realizing the lack of good education among the Fulani kids, Issah Gyani and his family set up the Shalom Academy in Buipe to help cater for the basic educational needs of the Fulani kids. To date, the Shalom Academy is faring well and has since its inception seen an increase in the enrolment of pupils. Shalom Academy has recently enrolled about 30 Fulani kids in the school. The total number of pupils in the school is now 96. Their ministry and the school are now faring well.

The work they do is not without challenges. Recently Issah has been experiencing certain health challenges. He had certain complications from his Lipoma surgery and had to go for constant reviews. He is however feeling better now. There are some Fulfulde Muslims who are also seriously opposing the Gospel of God but Issah and his family still persevere to reach  out to the unreached.

Issah and his wife Fati have really touched many lives with their ministry and this includes Abdulai and his family. Abdulai and his family used to take care of a certain rich man’s cattle in Buipe but the rich man was not paying them as he was supposed to so they left his cattle and relocated to Yendi in the Northern Region of Ghana where they reside now.

When they were still in Buipe, Issah used to visit, give advice and share the word of God with Abdulai and his family. Through the gospel that he shared with them, Issah gained their trust. They are always eager to hear the word of God. As a result, Issah gave Abdulai’s father Musah an audio Bible to enable him and the entire family to continue to listen to the word of God daily to help with their spiritual growth and also fully accept Jesus Christ.

Before relocating to Yendi, Abdulai whole-heartedly entrusted his five-year-old son Haruna into the care of Issah and Fati Gyani to be nurtured. Abdulai trusts that his son will be taken care of; he will be given a proper education as well as have a good fundamental upbringing if he stays with Issah and Fati. Haruna is now staying happily with Issah and Fati and he has been successfully enrolled and studying at the Shalom Academy.

PRAYER REQUEST

∙ We will cherish your prayer support for Abdulai and his entire family and especially his son, Haruna who is currently staying with Issah and Fati.

∙ Pray that Haruna will grow in the knowledge and wisdom of God to become the next missionary of COF among Fufulde people group in the near future.

∙ Pray for strength, good health and endurance for Issah Gyani and his entire family. Pray that their ministry and school will experience the glory of God.
